WILLANN STONE, PHD
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Therapy for Trauma, Complex Trauma, and PTSD

For Adults in NYC, Westchester, and Throughout New York
I specialize in working with adults who have experienced trauma and PTSD, including complex, relational, and longstanding trauma. I also work with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, chronic illness, and major life transitions.
For some people, trauma is less connected to a single event than to longstanding experiences—growing up feeling unsafe or walking on eggshells, struggling to trust others, or finding themselves repeating painful patterns in relationships.
With more than 30 years of experience as a clinical psychologist, my approach is psychodynamic and relational, helping you understand how your experiences continue to shape your sense of self, your relationships, and the ways you move through the world. When helpful, I also incorporate evidence-based trauma treatments, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and EMDR.
From 1996 until 2026 I served as Director of Psychological Services in Rehabilitation Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital. This work gave me extensive experience helping people navigate medical trauma and serious or chronic illness, including chronic pain, disability, loss of functioning, and the profound changes these experiences can bring to one's life and sense of self.
I see patients in person at my offices on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and in Westchester County, and offer secure virtual sessions throughout New York State.
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation—a chance to discuss what brings you to therapy, what you're looking for, and whether we might be a good fit. I'd be glad to hear from you.
